Waterproofing of an underground fire-prevention tank in reinforced concrete of about 280 square meters at a plant in Modugno.

Polyurea, a two-component resin extremely elastic and resistant, has been used for this intervention.

Polyurea was applied by hot spray with a bimixer hydraulic dosing machine, after having previously covered the walls of the tank with pre-treated fabric with primer.

In this way, a coating desolidarized from the support of the tank was obtained in order to guarantee the impermeability of the waterproofing over time, also resisting any damage to the concrete surface.

At the same time, this procedure avoided the need to restore and pre-treat all the walls of the pool.

Polyurea is a two-component elastomeric resin used to waterproof tanks, canals, roofs, terraces, swimming pools, parking lots and any surface, of any size, shape and material.

Being applied by spray, it is also ideal on vertical surfaces, corners and overhangs, creating a single monolithic surface without joints or overlaps.

MAIN BENEFITS OF POLYUREA

  • CRACK-BRIDGING CAPABILITY: compensation of structural movements of buildings and / or expansion of the supports much higher than traditional waterproofing with epoxy or cement-based resins
  • HIGHLY ELASTIC MEMBRANE: excellent resistance to impact, wear, high temperature and thermal shock
  • VERY FAST CURING: it cures to the touch within a few minutes of application
  • IT CAN BE PIGMENTED
  • APPLICABLE AT LOW TEMPERATURE AND HIGH HUMIDITY
  • HIGH CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: ideal for situations with permanent contact with substances such as potable water, waste water; fuels and aggressive atmospheres; alcoholic beverages
  • GOOD ADHESION TO MULTIPLE SUBSTRATES of any nature, dimension or type, also with complex shapes andcontours
